No bomb, talks, assassination can destroy Iran’s missile power: Defense chief

Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh

Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh says the country’s missile power cannot be destroyed by bombs, negotiations, or the cowardly assassination of scientists and commanders.

Speaking on Friday, Nasirzadeh added that Iran’s missile capability is non-negotiable and no one in the Islamic Republic believes that the missile issue should enter negotiations.

He added that the capability could not be rolled back even through international pressure, saying resolutions issued by countries with a history of 250 years will have no impact on Iran’s missile power.

The defense chief emphasized that Iran’s military prowess had grown significantly in comparison with the time before the beginning of 12 days of Israeli-US war in June 2025.

“Our military power today is far greater than during the 12-day war, and if any threat is directed at the Islamic Republic, the Armed Forces will respond to it with full intensity and decisiveness, without any consideration,” Nasirzadeh said.

The comments come days after US President Donald Trump threatened military strikes on Iran over the country's missile power.

Speaking alongside Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Mar-a-Lago in Florida on Monday, Trump threatened to “eradicate” any attempt by Iran to advance its nuclear program or bolster its ballistic missile capabilities.

“I hear that Iran is trying to build up again, and if they are, we’re going to have to knock them down," Trump said, threatening that a future US assault “may be more powerful than the last time.”

The US joined the Israeli military aggression against Iran in June, striking three peaceful nuclear sites in the country. Trump attempted to justify the aggression by repeating unverified claims that Iran could develop nuclear weapons within two months.

In a letter to Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Grossi on Wednesday, Iran’s permanent mission to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva warned that normalizing US threats against its nuclear facilities will jeopardize the credibility of the IAEA and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
