Iran’s national futsal team and female karatekas delivered golden performances at the Islamic Solidarity Games, adding to the country’s medal tally.

In Riyadh, the futsal final saw Iran defeat Morocco, Africa’s reigning champion, with a decisive 5–0 victory.

Iran’s squad struck three times in the first half through Amirhossein Gholami, Mehdi Karimi, and Hossein Tayebi. Tayebi and Gholami added two more in the second half, sealing the emphatic win.

The result carried extra weight, as Iran avenged its defeat to Morocco at the 2024 Futsal World Cup.

Meanwhile, Iranian women karate fighters also claimed top honors.

Sara Bahmanyar captured the nation’s fifth gold medal in Riyadh, defeating Uzbekistan’s Gulshan Mirdalova 6–4 in the –50kg category after overcoming rivals from Senegal and the Ivory Coast.

In kata, Fatemeh Sadeghi secured Iran’s third gold medal of the Games, overcoming a Turkish opponent in the final, with judges awarding her the top score.

The victories highlight Iran’s growing strength in both team and individual sports at the Islamic Solidarity Games, with more athletes set to compete in upcoming matches.
