‘Gaza ceasefire permanent’

Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya has declared the initiation of a permanent ceasefire in Gaza. He affirmed that both mediators and the US administration have guaranteed that the war has come to a complete end. Al-Hayya was speaking in a televised speech. He said the people of Gaza were engaged in a war with no parallel on the global scale. He added that the people of Gaza have confronted the Israeli regime’s oppression and atrocities, and astonished the world with their courage and resilience. He commended the resistance fighters for defending al-Quds and al-Aqsa, as well as for thwarting Israeli efforts to displace the Palestinians. The Hamas leader also expressed his appreciation to allies in Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq, and Iran for supporting Gaza. He honored the martyred commanders, Yahya Sinwar, Mohammed Deif, Saleh al-Arouri, and Ismail Haniyeh, describing them as martyrs of the nation.

Israel ceasefire violations

The Israeli regime presses ahead with its strikes on the Gaza Strip, despite the official announcement of a ceasefire agreement. One of the latest airstrikes hit a residential home south of Gaza City, causing numerous fatalities and injuries, and signaling a violent violation of the announced truce. The Israeli airstrike claimed the lives of at least four people, with at least forty more still trapped under the rubble. Palestinian Civil Defense and medical sources are still on the scene, searching for survivors under extremely difficult and dangerous conditions. The violent attack came just hours after US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Hamas had reached an agreement on the first phase of the ceasefire and prisoner exchange plan. According to Palestinian medical sources, at least 25 people have been killed by Israeli forces since Thursday dawn. The death toll from the regime's genocide now exceeds 67,190, with nearly 169,900 others injured.

Iran supporting Gaza

Iran has stressed that it will support any step or initiative that could lead to an immediate halt to the Israeli genocide in Gaza. Iranian government spokesperson, Fatemeh Mohajerani, made the comment in an exclusive interview with Al-Mayadeen network. Mohajerani emphasized that halting Israel’s crimes in Gaza must be followed by the full withdrawal of the regime’s occupation forces, and the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid into the besieged territory. She asserted that a ceasefire must not be limited to the cessation of hostilities, and those who ordered and carried out war crimes and crimes against humanity must be brought to justice. Mohajerani called for legal action in international courts against those responsible for the atrocities committed in Gaza, emphasizing that the pursuit of justice is essential to prevent future crimes. Her remarks followed an earlier statement by the Iranian Foreign Ministry, reiterating support for any plan aimed at halting the Gaza genocide and restoring the fundamental rights of the Palestinians. The ministry also stressed the international community's responsibility to prevent further violations by the Israeli regime.
