Sudan witnesses a major political development as paramilitary Rapid Support Forces commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as Hemedti, has been appointed as the head of a parallel Presidential Council.
The rival authority in Nyala, a city in Darfur, was announced while fighting continues across the country.
