A Palestinian resistance coalition has condemned Israel’s recent airstrikes on Hudaydah’s Red Sea ports in Yemen, asserting that these attacks stem from the regime’s fear of crippling retaliation by the Ansarullah movement.
“We condemn in the strongest terms the criminal aggression of the Zionist enemy against several civil service and civilian facilities in Yemen,” the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) said in a statement on Monday.
The PRC described the strikes as a desperate and failed attempt by the occupying Tel Aviv regime to impose new equations in the West Asia region, especially amid the Yemeni army’s precise and successful strikes deep into the occupied Palestinian territories that have seriously challenged the Israeli security apparatus.
The committee also congratulated Yemen’s swift response to the Israeli aggression.
“We felicitate Yemen’s response, which was prompt and caused panic and confusion among Zionists. This action marks a new intelligence failure for Israeli security and military agencies,” the PRC stated.
The statement came after Israel launched a series of airstrikes on a number of sites in Yemen’s Hudaydah province late on Sunday night.
Israeli minister of military affairs Israel Katz said in a statement that the strikes targeted the ports of Hudaydah, As Salif, and Ras Isa, the Ras Katib power station, and the Galaxy Leader, a merchant vessel seized by Yemeni forces in November 2023.
Shortly afterwards, the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a fresh retaliatory missile strike on Israeli positions in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The attack triggered air raid sirens across several settlements, including areas in the occupied West Bank and al-Quds.
Israel’s main Ben Gurion Airport suspended all flights due to fears of a potential missile impact.
As the genocidal war on Gaza intensified, the Yemenis implemented a strategic blockade on vital maritime routes, aiming to hinder the transportation of military supplies to Israel and to prompt the international community to address the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have announced that they will continue their attacks until Israel halts its ground and aerial offensives in Gaza, where at least 57,418 Palestinians have lost their lives since the war began on October 7, 2023.
