Israeli forces have intensified their raids across the West Bank, beating and arbitrarily abducting people in the occupied Palestinian territory.

The violent attacks took place on Sunday, with the occupation soldiers forcing Palestinians out of their homes, while bulldozing and torching the buildings.

In the Tulkarm refugee camp in the northern West Bank, Israeli forces severely beat an elderly man after setting his house on fire.

The regime’s troops also abducted a Palestinian man and his 13-year-old twin boys from their home in the central West Bank city of Beitunia.

In the al-Zahra’a neighborhood of the Jenin refugee camp, the occupation soldiers forced 20 families out of their homes and converted the dwellings into military outposts.

Bashir Matahen, director of public relations at the Jenin municipality, said 3,470 homes have been forcibly evacuated in the refugee camp, adding that almost 600 houses have been completely demolished there.

The camp is now sealed off by metal gates and earth mounds, he noted.

Matahen further said that the number of displaced persons from the city of Jenin and its refugee camp has exceeded 22,000.

Other Israeli attacks targeted the Fawwar refugee camp, as well as the cities of Tubas and Nablus, and the towns of Nahalin and Tuqu’.

Israel launched its offensive against the occupied West Bank on January 21, claiming that it was targeting resistance fighters of the Jenin Battalion.

The regime has ramped up its West Bank violence since October 7, 2023, when it launched its genocidal war on the Gaza Strip. Since then, Israeli forces and settlers have killed nearly 960 Palestinians in the occupied territory.

The raids have so far uprooted over 40,000 people, the largest displacement since the 1967 war that led to the Israeli occupation of the territory, according to the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA).
