Russia will not stand idly by if Iran is attacked

Iran previously had a nuclear agreement with the US, which was terminated under President Trump's previous tenure amid heavy pro-Israeli pressure.

The current US approach is heavily influenced by Israeli interests too. Despite some Persian Gulf states aligning with Western interests due to their weaker military positions, there is growing solidarity among some regional powers against the Israeli regime and the US. Should Iran be attacked, Russia and China are unlikely to remain passive, as Iran holds strategic significance for Russia's security and access in Central Asia. A US-Israeli military campaign against Iran could escalate into a larger conflict, potentially involving various global and regional powers and leading to significant US losses in West Asia.
