US-Israeli genocide in Gaza
Israel continues its relentless strikes on the Gaza Strip despite the global call for an immediate ceasefire. In yet another massacre in its unraveling genocide, the regime has bombed a school housing displaced families, killing more than 30 people, most of them women and children. The attack took place on Al-Sardi School near the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, which houses hundreds of displaced people. Rescue teams have described the situation as an “insane escalation of violence” in Gaza. According to Palestinian sources, more than 100 civilians have been killed in central Gaza during the past 24 hours. More than 300 wounded have also arrived at the Al-Aqsa Hospital, which has only one functioning generator. The hospital called on the international community for help to save people from “certain death.” Israel’s genocidal war, which began early last October, has claimed the lives of at least 36,700 Palestinians, mostly women and children, so far.
Yemen retaliatory operations
The Yemeni army says it has carried out fresh operations in the Red and Arabian Sea in support of Palestinians in Gaza and in response to the US and British aggression against the country. Yemen’s army spokesman, Yahya Saree, said the first two operations targeted two Israel-linked ships in the Red Sea with missiles and drones. He said the ships had violated Yemen’s decision to ban entry to the ports of the occupied Palestine. He added that the third operation hit an American vessel with a number of drones in the Arabian Sea. Saree said the Yemeni armed forces will continue to carry out military operations in solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians until the Israeli aggression stops and the siege of Gaza is lifted. Yemen has carried out numerous such attacks since the Israeli genocide in Gaza began early last October. On Tuesday, the country’s forces struck an Israeli target in Umm al-Rashrash port, also known as Eilat, with a new ballistic missile called Palestine.
Iran-IAEA relations
Iran has strongly condemned the adoption of an anti-Tehran resolution by the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors. The Iranian Foreign Ministry described the move as politically-motivated, unconstructive, and in line with some Western countries’ previous failed policies. The ministry added that Iran remains committed to continuing technical cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog within the framework of its international rights and obligations, and based on the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and Safeguards Agreement. It stressed that the new resolution will have no impact on Iran's resolve to continue peaceful use of nuclear energy according to relevant international treaties. Earlier on Wednesday, the IAEA’s board adopted a resolution, accusing Tehran of non-compliance with its safeguards commitments. Iran has recently announced that it is rolling back its commitments under the 2015 nuclear deal due to the Western parties' sanctions and their failure to fulfill their obligations under the accord.
