Pakistan advances work on gas pipeline project with Iran to avoid fine

Pakistan has finally approved the commencement of the much-delayed work on its segment of a key gas pipeline with Iran to avoid a whopping fine. The project, which dates back to 2013 and will help address Pakistan’s increasing energy needs, has faced serious hurdles due to US pressure and sanctions.
