Iran says war is not a solution to the Palestinian issue and it will have no outcome for the warmongers.

Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri in Beirut on Saturday.

The Iranian minister called for a swift end to Israel’s hostilities in Gaza.

Amir-Abdollahian said all influential regional and international players admit that Israel’s brutal campaign has failed despite the unqualified support the regime receives from the United States.

Washington, he said, claims it does not seek to expand the scope of conflict in the region, but there is no sign of willingness on the part of the Americans to work for an end to Israel’s savagery.

The Iranian foreign minister also commented on attacks by the US and Britain on Yemen. He said it was a “strategic mistake” made by the two countries which violated Yemen’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity. The strikes on Yemen fuel the fire of crisis in the region and the Red Sea, Amir-Abdollahian said.

Central to Iran’s foreign policy agenda is support for the Palestinian resistance, the minister stated.

On Lebanon’s support for Palestine, Amir-Abdollahian expressed Tehran’s praise for the Lebanese nation. He said Iran would work for the promotion of political process and stability in Lebanon.

During the meeting, Berri thanked Iran for supporting Lebanon. He called for more efforts to end the war against the Palestinians and establish ceasefire. The Lebanese official said Beirut supports any agreement among the Palestinian groups to run the territories.

‘Iran firmly supports Lebanon’s stability’

In a separate meeting with Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati in Beirut on Saturday, Amir-Abdollahian reaffirmed Iran’s strong support for the promotion of stability in Lebanon.

The top Iranian diplomat said Tehran has gone to great lengths over the past few months to put an end to Israel’s brutality in Gaza and prevent the spillover of the conflict.

The Palestinians are the true owners of their land, the Iranian minister said. “We know they have political plans and initiatives for the post-war phase as well.”

Mikati said in the meeting that more needs to be done to establish an immediate ceasefire in the besieged Gaza Strip.
