Six-year-old missing Palestinian girl killed by Israeli regime

Six-year-old Hind Rajab went missing after her family's car was attacked by Israel in Gaza and was tragically killed by the regime's forces.

A six-year-old Palestinian girl called Hind Rajab, who went missing after the family’s car was brutally attacked by Israeli forces in the war-torn Gaza Strip, was found dead on Saturday.

The Palestinian health ministry and the girl’s relatives announced the tragic news, blaming the Israeli regime for the killing.

“Hind and everyone else in the car is martyred,” the girl’s grandfather, Baha Hamada said.

“They were able to reach the area because Israeli forces withdrew early at dawn today,” Hamada added.

The ministry also confirmed that she was killed by Israeli occupation forces.

“She was killed by [Israeli] occupation forces with all those who were with her in the car outside the petrol station in Tel al-Hawa,” the ministry said in a statement.

The last time Hind had been seen was about two weeks ago when she was surrounded by dead relatives after becoming trapped in the vehicle as they tried to flee Gaza City as Israeli forces advanced.

“I am so scared, please come.

Please call someone to come and take me

What time is it?

How far is your home from me? Come and take me

It is getting dark and I am afraid of the dark

Take me

Come take me, will you come and take me?”

This was the heartbreaking refrain of Hind Rajab’s three-hour conversation with a Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) worker in the besieged Gaza Strip.

This tragedy unfolded on January 29 when Bashar Hamada, Hind’s maternal uncle, decided to escape the brutal bombardment of the occupying Israeli regime.

On his way to a place designated “safe”, he was stopped by the Israeli army in the Tal Al-Hawa neighborhood in the south of the besieged strip.

Jehad Affoneh, a social media user from California, regarded Hind’s story as especially heart-breaking with no news about her survival.

Affoneh said that preventing help from reaching the injured is not a new practice for the apartheid Israeli regime, as it has been doing the same in the occupied West Bank as well.
