Iraq, US agree to discuss timeline for withdrawal of American troops

The US and Iraq have agreed to form working groups that would lead to formulating a timetable for the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq.

The decision comes amid rising resistance strikes on US troops in Iraq. The attacks are in response to Washington’s support for Israel’s genocide in Gaza. Washington has some 2,500 troops in Iraq.
