Thousands rally in US capital, call for Gaza ceasefire
Thousands of pro-Palestine protesters held a rally in downtown Washington DC on Saturday, urging US President Joe Biden to push for a ceasefire amid Israel's genocidal war on the besieged territory.
"As long as the bombing continues, it’s not going to solve anything, it’s not going to accomplish anything other than more death," Isam Hijazi, who came from Massachusetts to attend the rally, told AFP.
"We’re hoping that Biden will reach out to Israel and have them stop bombing and killing innocent people," another rallygoer from New Jersey said.
