Hundreds evacuated as flash floods hit northeastern Australia

Authorities remove a crocodile swimming in floodwaters in Queensland, where heavy downpours forced evacuations and stranded residents.

A Queensland Department of Environment and Science spokesperson confirmed that a crocodile had been removed from floodwaters near the town of Ingham.

Rescue teams evacuated more than 300 people overnight, police said, and military helicopters have been dispatched to help inundated areas cut off by the floods.
