The military wing of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas says it has targeted southern Tel Aviv with missiles in response to the Israeli regime’s fierce bombardment of the besiege Gaza Strip.

The al-Qassam Brigades announced in a brief statement on Monday that the resistance forces had fired missiles at southern neighborhoods of Tel Aviv and the city of Holon “in response to the Israeli massacres against civilians in Gaza.”

Israeli media confirmed the retaliatory strikes by Hamas and said, “A series of 10 missiles were launched towards central Israel, one of which landed in Holon, causing major damage.”

Reports said a settler was injured as a result of a missile falling in Holon and significant damage was inflicted on a number of cars.

Israeli media also claimed that "seven missiles” were intercepted in an attack on the illegal settlements surrounding the Gaza Strip and Sderot, located in the south of the Israeli-occupied territories.

Fierce clashes in Khan Yunis

In another statement, the al-Qassam Brigades announced that two Israeli Merkava tanks were targeted with Yassin 105 anti-tank munitions in the southern Gaza city of Khan Yunis on Monday as the resistance forces engaged in fierce clashes with the occupation army.

The statement added that an unspecified number of Israeli soldiers were killed or wounded after the Brigades targeted a special Zionist force holed up in a building in Beit Lahia, in the far north of the impoverished besieged strip.

Media reports also said “violent” clashes took place with Israel’s special forces in the west of the Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip.

The al-Qassam Brigades said the resistance forces managed, in the last 48 hours to destroy 44 Israeli military vehicles “completely or partially” on the entire fighting fronts in the Gaza Strip.

Israel waged the devastating war on Gaza on October 7 after the territory’s Palestinian resistance movements carried out a surprise retaliatory attack, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, against the occupying entity over its intensified violence against Palestinians.

The Israeli aggression has so far killed some 18,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, and wounded more than 49,000 others.

The Tel Aviv regime has imposed a “complete siege” on the territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.
