Iranian president to attend emergency OIC summit in Saudi Arabia on Gaza genocide

Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi

Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi will travel to Saudi Arabia to take part in an extraordinary summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) focusing on ways to stop Israel's savage war machine against Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Raeisi is set to leave Tehran for Riyadh on Saturday.

Participants at the OIC summit will also discuss ways to dispatch humanitarian aid to the oppressed people of Gaza.

Since the beginning of the regime's bombardment of the defenseless people of Gaza on October 7, President Raeisi has held phone talks and meetings with heads of Muslim countries, calling for an OIC emergency session to pressure Israel to stop the carnage.

Israel ignited the war machine on that October day after Palestinian resistance groups led by Hamas and Islamic Jihad launched Operation Al-Aqsa Storm into the occupied territories in response to the regime’s intensified crimes against Palestinians.

According to the Gaza-based Health Ministry, Israel has killed more than 11,000 Palestinians, including over 4,500 children, ever since. Over 26,000 others have also been injured.

The Tel Aviv regime has also blocked access to water, food, and electricity in Gaza, plunging the territory into a humanitarian crisis.

On Monday, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said the United States is directly involved in masterminding the Israeli onslaught on Gaza.

“Since the very first days of the Zionist regime’s attacks, all the evidence and indications show the direct involvement of the Americans in running the war,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.
