Iranian rower Kazemi gets bronze at women’s kayak single 500m in Asian Games

Female Iranian rower Hediye Kazemi has won a bronze medal in the women's kayak single 500-meter contests at the ongoing 19th edition of the Asian Games in China.

The Iranian sportswoman crossed the line with a time of 2:00.635 minutes, and claimed the third spot at the end of the competitions at the Fuyang Water Sports Center in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou on Tuesday.

Li Dongyin of China won the gold with 1:58.931, and Singaporean paddler Jiexian Stephenie Chen came second with 2:00.074.

A record high of nearly 12,500 athletes from 45 countries and territories compete across 40 sports in the Asian Games.

Iran has sent 289 male and female athletes to the Games in 34 sports events.
