Julian Assange extradition

A group of Australian lawmakers have planned to visit the United States later this month to demand an end to Washington’s push to get WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange extradited to the country.

The US has called for the extradition of Assange, an Australian citizen, after his whistleblower website WikiLeaks published thousands of US government documents in 2010, which included a cache of classified documents related to war crimes in Afghanistan and Iraq.
