Former US President Donald Trump says he will not participate in Republican primary debates since everybody knows who he is.

“The public knows who I am & what a successful Presidency I had.”

That is the message Trump, the Republican party’s front-runner, posted on his social media platform on Monday.

The first debate in the race for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination is set to take place in Milwaukee on August 23. Fox News is hosting the debate.

Trump also bragged about his poll statistics.

A recent survey published by CBS News on Sunday said 62 percent of those polled would vote for Trump.

His closest contender in the poll was Florida Governor Ron DeSantis at 16 percent. The rest of those in the field are polling in the single digits.

Trump has been indicted four times this year. He has a Friday deadline to voluntarily surrender in Georgia for being charged last week in connection with a scheme intended to reverse his 2020 election loss to President Joe Biden.

The former president faces roughly 75 years in prison if convicted on all counts and given the maximum sentences in the Georgia indictment.

If Georgia judges decide to issue a prison sentence the mandatory minimum is five years. But if Trump is back in power, he could put off serving prison time until after his term concludes.
