What happens in France?

Since the murder of a teenager by French police in Nanterre on June 27, massive protest demonstrations have broken out again, this time led mainly by marginalized teenagers, many descendants of immigrants from former French colonies.

Thousands of fires and looting characterized the protests. The Macron government mobilized nearly 50,000 police officers and put the Army on alert for relentless repression.
