UK central bank raises interest rates for 12th time to tame inflation

The UK's central bank has again raised its benchmark interest rate by a quarter of a percentage point. That has brought the rate to 4.5 percent - the highest level in 15 years. The Bank of England says the aim is to curb rampant inflation that remains stubbornly in the double digits.
