TikTok ban: US targets China
The US-led TikTok ban is being met with lots of opposition. Even though the ban is spreading to many countries, the national security threat that the US has cited is not convincing ordinary users.
The US side is accustomed to politicising, supplying and weaponizing economic, trade, science and technology issues under the guise of national security. The reason: to deprive China of its development rights. China rightly says this violates the principles of market competition and fairness, and seriously undermines the international economic and trade order.
