Anger against Israel and the United States is raging on the streets of Pakistan. Thousands of Pakistanis took to the streets to express solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people and the battle for the liberation of Al-Quds.

Held each year on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, International Quds Day is an occasion to show support for Palestinians who have been experiencing systematic oppression for more than seven decades.

While condemning Israeli atrocities across the occupied territories, Pakistan’s political parties, religious groups, and rights activists held World Al-Quds Day in all major Pakistani cities including Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and the capital Islamabad.

Chanting slogans against Israel and the US, the protestors called on Islamic countries and human rights-defending nations to pay attention to the problems and oppression of the Palestinian people and to address this challenge of an Islamic state.

The participants of the rallies also expressed disgust with the compromising regional rulers to establish relations with Israel, saying the betrayal of the compromisers has increased the suffering of the Palestinians.

This year, the people of Pakistan as well as Muslims all around the world have renewed their staunch commitment to the Palestinian cause. They are determined to make sure that Palestine can once again become a free land.
