Finland joins NATO

Finland has officially become the 31st member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

The Kremlin has cast the move as a threat and warned of countermeasures. Moscow has time and again voiced its concerns about NATO expansionism.

Therefore, Finlands acceptance into the US-led military alliance and the alliances expansion could be a clear act of provocation.
