US, S Korea ramping up military drills with strategic nuclear assets

The US wasted no time scrambling jets in response to North Korea's recent long range missile launch, deploying strategic assets capable of carrying nuclear bombs with South Korean fighter aircraft. At the United Nations the US placed responsibility for the tension on North Korea.
North Korea has steadily developed a nuclear deterrent in the face of expanding US militarization of South Korea. China calls for dialogue.
The US has agreed to frequently deploy nuclear capable weapons to the region at South Korea's request.
The US and South Korea seem to have jointly decided to raise the tension on the Korean Peninsula in an attempt to somehow force North Korea to negotiate on denuclearization. This reverses the policy of the previous South Korean government, which saw a reduction of tension through engagement and summits with Pyongyang.
More regional tension seems inevitable as South Korea seeks to celebrate the 70th anniversary of its alliance with the US with ever-larger war games.
