Since the beginning of the 20th century, many Muslim scholars have explored the possibility of establishing an Islamic democracy. They describe the Islamization of democracy on the basis of modern reinterpretation of certain political aspects, such as Shura or consultation, to provide an effective foundation for the convergence of Islam and democracy.
