UK Crackdown on Protests

While Union leaders hold a protest outside Downing Street, MPs debate legislation which would see striking workers in key sectors be legally required to provide a minimum service. Is the UK trying to take away a freedom granted under Western democracy, called the right to strike and freedom of assembly?
