Another attempt to stoke division in Iran by terrorists who would stop at nothing to reach their goal of creating instability. On December 9, officials in Sistan and Baluchestan province said the body of slain Sunni cleric, Molavi Abdulvahed Rigi, who was kidnapped a day earlier, has been found.

According to police reports on Thursday, a number of unknown individuals took him away in a car that had no license plate. His dead body was found on the roadside a day later. Police are still investigating the case.

Days before he was kidnapped, he met with a delegation representing Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in the province.

Molavi Abdulvahed Rigi always emphasized the importance of allegiance to the Islamic Republic. He was seen as a symbol of unity between Shia and Sunni Muslims.

Sistan and Baluchestan province is among the regions, most affected by the recent foreign-backed riots and this recent assassination is an obvious attempt at stoking division.
