Another Palestinian youth has lost his life after being critically wounded by Israeli forces during a raid on a village in the occupied West Bank city of Salfit.

The Palestinian Health Ministry announced that the death of Muhammad Ahmad Shamlawi was the result of critical wounds he had sustained with live bullets in the chest during clashes with the occupation forces in the village of Qarawat Bani Hassan in Salfit earlier on Saturday.

Local media reports said more than 10 Israeli military vehicles stormed the village on Saturday afternoon and the regime’s forces clashed with the residents, during which a number of Palestinians were shot.

The 30-year-old Shamlawi was one of the five Palestinians that were injured in the clashes, with the Palestinian Health Ministry saying two of the injured had been transferred to a hospital in Salfit and were in serious condition.

Tensions have been running high across the occupied Palestinian territories during the past months.

Earlier on Friday, Israeli forces shot and killed two Palestinian men, including a physician, during a raid on the city of Jenin in the northern West Bank.

The Palestinian Health Ministry identified the doctor as Abdullah al-Ahmad, and said he was shot in the head by Israeli forces in front of the Jenin public hospital. The second man killed was 20-year-old Mateen Dabaya. He was shot with a bullet to the head.

Israeli forces have recently been conducting overnight raids and killings in the northern occupied West Bank, mainly in the cities of Jenin and Nablus, where new groups of Palestinian resistance fighters have been formed.

At least 171 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in the Israeli-occupied territories since the start of the year, including 51 in the besieged Gaza Strip during Israel’s three-day onslaught in August.
