Western powers backing Ethiopia rebels

Fighting has erupted again in Ethiopia’s northern Tigray region, ending hopes for peace after a ceasefire declared in March. Many Ethiopians believe Western powers are backing Tigray rebels who restarted the war.

Ethiopians have held protests across the world calling on Washington to stop its support for TPFL rebels. This week we are focusing on renewed fighting in Ethiopia’s Tigray region amid reports that some Western powers are supporting the rebels in this Horn of Africa nation. We are asking, why are foreign powers and some regional countries backing the rebels in Ethiopia? The second part of our show today will be on the move by the European Parliament to oppose the construction East African Crude Oil Pipeline project, a move that has angered the people of Uganda.
