World freestyle wrestling championships: Iranian grapplers secured silver, bronze medals

Iranian freestyle wrestlers in three weight categories kick-started their matches on the second day of the World Wrestling Championships 2022 in Belgrade, Serbia on Friday.

In 92 kg, Kamran Ghasempour thrashed his Georgian rival 5-0 in the semi-final and got his ticket to the final. But another Iranian semi-finalist Yunis Emami was outscored by his American rival and failed to get into the final.

In 57 kg, Alireza Sarlak conceded to his Chinese opponent 5-2 and was unfortunately stopped. Now in the evening, in the 86 and 79 kg categories, Hassan Yazdani and Mohammad Nokhodi were not able to get past their American rivals and got silver. Amir Hossein Zare is also going to return to the mat and fight for a bronze medal.
