World freestyle wrestling championships: Iranian grapplers to fight for gold and bronze

Iranian Freestyle wrestlers in three weight categories kick-started their matches on the second day of the World Wrestling Championships 2022 in Belgrade, Serbia on Friday.

Kamran Ghasempour and Younis Emami in 92 and 74kg classes could strongly defeat their rivals from Bulgaria and Azerbaijan and ended up with the semi-finals. However, in 57kg, Alireza Sarlak conceded to his Chinese opponent 5-2 and was unfortunately stopped. Of course, Ghasempour and Emami is to resume their second matches in the afternoon in the semi-finals to see who will be Iran's finalist. Now, in the evening, we’re waiting for Iranian athletes, Mohammad Nokhodi and Hasan Yazdani in the final competitions of the 79, and 86kg weight classes. They’re expecting to fight for the gold medals with their American opponents, Jordan Burroughs and David Taylor. Amir Hossein Zare is also going to return to the mat and fight for a bronze medal.
