Paris to scale back monument lighting amid energy crisis

During a press conference, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo says public monuments including the Eiffel Tower will no longer be lit throughout the night as energy bills bite.

Most monuments will go unlit from 10:00 pm, while the Eiffel Tower will go dark at 11:45 pm, says Hidalgo, with street lights remaining on for security.
