US carried out illegal biological weapons research in Ukraine: Analyst

The United States was carrying out illegal biological weapons research in Ukraine, according to an American international relations analyst.

Andrew Korybko, a Moscow-based American political analyst, said in an interview with Press TV on Friday that US was experimenting with biological weapons that were customized to specifically target the genomes that are most popular among the Russian population.

A top Russian general has blamed the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for a possible role in the emergence of COVID-19 through its program on bat control.

“We consider a possibility that the USAID is involved in the emergency of the novel coronavirus,” Russian Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Protection Troops commander General Igor Kirillov said on Thursday.

Korybko said, “The evidence that was recently presented by Russian officials raises very serious questions about the intention of the US’ reported research, but it’s still not possible to confidently conclude that it played a role in the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior studies by the World Health Organization (WHO) and others have suggested that the virus was naturally occurring and not man-made, but at the same time, other studies claim the opposite. The public will likely never know for sure because the issue has been irredeemably politicized.”

“Having said that, the international community should build upon the Russian officials’ findings and consider conducting their own studies into these claims. They probably wouldn’t be successful since the US is reluctant to allow anyone to independently investigate its alleged biological warfare laboratories, but the evidence that Russia has discovered in Ukraine throughout the course of its ongoing special military operation there over the last nearly six months raise a lot of very uncomfortable questions. It certainly appears as though the US was carrying out illegal biological weapons research there,” he stated.

“The US would prefer to carry out illegal biological weapons research far away from its own borders in case there’s a possible leak,” the analyst said.

“Furthermore, according to prior Russian reports, the US was also experimenting with biological weapons that were customized to specifically target the genomes that are most popular among their country’s population. Thus, there’s a certain logic inherent to the Russian allegations on this very sensitive issue that can’t be confidently dismissed without a truly independent investigation, though once again, it’s unlikely that the US will ever allow one to be conducted,” he said.

“Expanding upon what was previously shared, the US’ reported interest in engineering biological weapons that specifically target certain genomes popular among the Russian population would increase the attractiveness of these experiments in neighboring Ukraine. Not only has that crumbling former Soviet Republic been a US vassal since the spree of urban terrorism popularly known as ‘EuroMaidan’ succeeded in overthrowing its previous government, but its people also share a lot of the Russian genome too, not to mention that families used to frequently travel between those two’s borders,” Korybko said.

“Another reason why Ukraine was chosen for the US’ military biological operations is because there’s literally no oversight for whatever that country’s overlord wanted to do. Kiev is Washington’s vassal and couldn’t deny its demand to set up those facilities even if it wanted to. Russian officials earlier presented evidence that they claim connected the Biden family and particularly the president’s son Hunter to some of the companies that participated in these illegal experiments. That story has since practically been censored from the Mainstream Media, but intrepid journalists should consider digging deeper into it,” he concluded.
