Tehran Syria Summit

Presidents of Iran, Turkey and Russia held tripartite summit on Syria in Tehran on Tuesday and condemned foreign meddling in the Arab country.

Iran’s President Raeisi said territorial integrity and independence of Syria must be respected. Russia’s President Putin urged respect for Syria’s sovereignty, slamming the West for plundering Syria’s natural wealth with intention of disintegrating the country. Erdogan, in turn said Astana process is only platform that has taken necessary measures for peace in Syria. Iran’s leader told Turkish President Erdogan that military action in Syria would harm Turkey too.

Press TV interviews Jim Kavanagh, founder of The Polemicist.net from New York and Tony Gosling, investigative journalist from Bristol to look at Syria’s security situation and whether Turkey will continue operations in northern Syria despite emphasis on the trilateral meeting in Tehran and Iran Leader’s recommendation to President Erdogan not to do so. Iran, Russia and Turkey act as guarantors of Astana process to establish peace in Syria.
