Cartoons exhibition, silencing guns in Africa

The World Cartoon Festival on Applying Art and Culture in Silencing the Guns in Africa was held in Kenya on 21 September 2021. This international festival has been organized by the Embassy of Iran in Nairobi, Regional Center on Small Arms and Tehran International Studies and Research Institute.

The festival sought to use art to create awareness about the Africa Union’s initiative to achieve a conflict-free Africa, prevent genocide, make peace a reality for all and rid the continent of wars. In the second part, the program reviews tensions between Congo and Rwanda. The Democratic Republic of the Congo has accused Rwanda of backing the M23 rebels which Rwanda denies sparking a diplomatic row between the neighboring countries.
