Volleyball Nations League: Iran roll over Serbia to reach finals
Team Iran have sealed a spot in the Volleyball Nations League finals, following a dominant straight sets victory over Serbia.
It was a lengthy battle in the 1st set but it was Team Iran who came out on top edging out a 35-33 win, courtesy of an unreturnable serve by Milad Ebadipour. The Iranians carried the momentum into the 2nd beating the Serbians 25-21 to double their lead.
The Asian powerhouses performed well both on the offense and defense in the 3rd to wrap up a brilliant night with a 25-12 routing of the Serbs. Amir-Hossein Esfandyar scored a game-high 17 points for Iran, while Amin Esmaeil-Nejad contributed 16.
