An official Iranian delegation headed by chief of the IRIB Peyman Jebelli arrived in Damascus and met with Syria’s prime minister Hussein Arnous who called for expansion of ties with Iranian media outlets for unmasking false media campaigns that some countries launched to mislead the public opinion on the truth of events in West Asia.

Jebelli who also had a separate meeting with minister of information Butrous Hallaq said economic pressure on Syria is a result of Syria’s triumph on terror and the defeat of enemies, stressing the importance of strong cooperation in confronting the media war against the two states.

Meanwhile, the delegation participated in a seminar held in rejection of normalization of relations with Israel. Jebelli said the reason behind pressures on the peoples of the region is the failure of the enemies’ conspiracies, asserting there is no future for normalization with Israel.

The delegation is scheduled to hold more meetings on Tuesday and sign agreements with Syrian media outlets.

The visit aims to further bolster cooperation between both countries’ media sectors to reach the level of strategic relations between Syria and Iran and strongly counter the media war waged against member countries of the resistance alliance.
