Europe’s cost of living protests

EU citizens are struggling to make ends meet as cost of living soars across Europe. Over 50,000 people refused to work in biggest UK rail strike in over 30 years to protest below-inflation pay, bringing nationwide rail transport to standstill.

UK strike leaders say campaign will run for as long as necessary, while similar cost of living protests are underway in Belgium and Ireland. Germany also facing certain recession and gas problems.

Press TV takes a closer look at Europe’s cost of living protests in Spotlight tonight with Tony Gosling, historian and investigative journalist from Bristol and Paolo Raffone, secretary general of CIPI Foundation from Brussels.
