Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip held a rally to mark the 74th Nakba Day or Palestinian catastrophe.

Angry protesters shouted slogans against the Israeli regime and slammed the silence of the international community over the plight of Palestinians.

Nakba Day marks the dispossession and expulsion of Palestinians from their ancestral land prior to the creation of the Israeli regime in 1948.

More than seven decades down the road, Palestinian refugees who are numbered in the millions are still scattered in camps in Gaza, the occupied West Bank, and several other countries, trying to liberate their occupied lands by resisting the Israeli occupation.

In 1948, eighty-five percent of the Palestinian people were forcibly displaced from their homeland and over 500 villages were destroyed in order to establish the Israeli regime.

According to international law, refugees have the right to return to their homes of origin, receive real property restitution, and compensation for losses and damages.
