Israeli forces have again raided the West Bank city of Jenin and killed two more Palestinians, as the death toll in the last 24 hours rises to five across the occupied territories.

That includes a 14-year-old boy who was shot dead in Housan near Bethlehem. The Palestinian Authority has declared a general strike amid calls to intensify confrontation with Israel.

A general strike has been observed in the occupied West Bank cities of Ramallah and Bethlehem on Thursday in protest against the killing of a number of Palestinians during Israeli military raids the day before.

The walkout affected all public institutions and the private sector, including schools and businesses.

This morning, Israeli troops raided the northern West Bank city of Jenin once again, killing two Palestinians and wounding others.

The occupied West Bank has witnessed a renewed surge in deadly violence by the Israeli forces in the last two days. A 14-year-old boy was among the victims last night.

In the town of Silwad, north Ramallah, a Palestinian was shot dead during clashes that erupted after Israeli forces raided the town to carry out arrests.

The Israeli intelligence claimed the troops were working to arrest members of what they described as a terrorist cell that was allegedly planning to carry out an attack in al-Quds.

Here in Silwad, during the funeral procession of 20-year-old Omar Elayyan, Palestinians said they were ready to offer more martyrs for the sake of Palestine in the fight against the Israeli occupation forces.

They added that more escalation is required to respond to the Israeli atrocities.

Israel has stepped up raids and arrests across the West Bank after a number of Palestinian operations in the past three weeks that left 14 Israeli settlers dead.

On the other hand, some two dozen Palestinians have been killed in the occupied West Bank since the beginning of April. Dozens have also been wounded and over two hundred others arrested.

The atrocities that are being carried out by the Israeli troops against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank is a reminder of the violence that led to the last intifada against the Israeli occupying regime and its forces.
