The Iranian post-Islam solar calendar turns 15 centuries and a year old, March the 20th; most years March the 21st.
The occasion, however, goes way back to the 6th century before Christ, when Iran was Zoroastrian, but the tradition continues in its time-adapted form, with Qurans on the New Year or Haft-seen table.
