Brighton have dealt a blow to Chelsea’s title run in the Premier League, after holding them to a 1-all draw at Stamford Bridge.
Romelu Lukaku opened the scoring for Chelsea on 27th minute as he met a corner by Mason Mount with an unstoppable header. The goal stood after a VAR check.
The Blues held on to their lead until the 91st minute, but substitute Danny Welbeck scored the equalizer, and the first ever goal for Brighton at Stamford Bridge.
Thomas Tuchel’s side were looking to move three points clear of fellow title-contenders Liverpool, but the draw limited them to one. They remain second on the table with 42 points. Brighton however sit at 10th with 24.
