The Newcastle and Manchester United have played out an entertaining 1-all draw at St James’ Park.
New Castle took a surprise lead after just 7 minutes after Allan Saint-Maximin moved past a couple of defenders before guiding the ball into far corner.
Man United found a leveler in the 71st minute with Edinson Cavani poking the ball into a near empty net on the rebound of his own shot. The Uruguayan had the chance to grab his 2nd, minutes later, but his deft effort did not reach the target.
The Magpies pushed for more and came close, with 3 minutes left, when Jacob Murphy’s curling effort cannoned off the post, and David de Gea pulled off a brilliant save to deny Miguel Almiron. The result left United seventh in the standings, while Newcastle stayed 19th.
