Baby floated to safety in tub as typhoon triggers floods in Philippines

Philippine Coast Guard officers wade through the chest-deep flood in Cagayan de Oro City in the southern Philippines to rescue a baby.

The officers used a plastic tub to float the one-month-old across high waters and used an umbrella to shield the baby from heavy rains brought by Super Typhoon Rai.

The rains caused a creek to swell and flood some areas, triggering rescue operations to evacuate remaining residents trapped in their flooded homes.
