Iran has informed signatories of the nuclear deal, in detailed draft documents, that it wants all US sanctions that violate the 2015 agreement to be removed. These include all sanctions imposed under former president Donald Trump as part of the maximum pressure campaign.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister and lead negotiator Ali Baqeri-Kani says Iran has called for the verifiable removal of sanctions and guarantees that the US will not commit further violations. Tehran says the ball is now in the US court.

Following talks with EU coordinator Enrique Mora on Thursday, Bagheri also met the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Mariano Grossi, expressing Iran’s intention to continue its close cooperation with the Agency and to remain actively engaged in the Vienna talks.

Iran’s lead negotiator says he’s warned other participants not to allow outside players to negatively influence or obstruct the process of talks, saying his team is serious about reaching an agreement and is ready to continue the negotiations.
