Russia reports 1,235 deaths from COVID-19 in past 24 hours

Russia on Friday (November 12) reported 1,235 coronavirus-related deaths in the last 24 hours, close to a record one-day toll recorded earlier this week, amid a nationwide surge in cases.

A total of 252,926 people died of coronavirus in Russia during the pandemic, according to the official data.

Russia has been experiencing a sharp increase in the number of daily infections from mid-September to the end of October. Since the beginning of November, new daily infection cases stopped around 40,000.
