Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, held a big rally following the Friday prayers to mark the 10th anniversary of a prisoner swap deal with the Israeli regime.

Over one thousand Palestinian prisoners were exchanged for Israeli soldier Gilad Schalit in October 2011.

Palestinians demand the release of all prisoners in Israeli prisons.

Hamas is reportedly holding captive at least four Israeli soldiers and refuses to give any information about them until Israel releases all Palestinian prisoners who were re-arrested following the Schalit swap deal.

Israel must understand that we will not sit idle and the Palestinian resistance will force Israel to free our prisoners.

Participants in the rally criticized some Arab countries in the Persian Gulf for their normalization of ties with the Israel and their silence towards the plight of Palestinian prisoners.

In an interview with Press TV former Palestinian prisoner Amin Al-Tell from the Occupied West Bank called for more prisoner exchange deals to secure the release of all Palestinian prisoners.

Palestinians say that more prisoner exchange deals will be made in the near future to free all Palestinian prisoners.

According to prisoners’ advocacy groups Israel is currently holding some five thousand Palestinians behind bars, including women and children.
