UEFA Nations League: France in final after 3-2 win over Belgium

World Champions France have reached the final of the UEFA Nations League after coming from behind to outscore Belgium 3-2 in a thrilling encounter in Turin.

The Belgians were first to get off the mark, when Yannick Carrasco’s low shot left Hugo Lloris rooted to the ground in the 37th minute.

The lead was doubled in style minutes later, when Romelu Lukaku unleashed a thunder-bolt of a shot from the acutest of angles to once again leave the French goal-keeper helpless.

France were a revitalized team in the second half and Karim Benzema dragged them back into the game just after the

hour-mark firing home on the turn after some good work by Kylian Mbappe.

Les Blues were on level terms 7 minutes later,, when Youri Tielemans upended Antoine Griezmann in the area and Mbappe blasted into the top-corner from the spot.

And finally, Theo Hernandez rifled home a splendid last-gasp drive to complete the turn-around for France and to book their ticket for Sunday’s show-piece match against Spain.
