Iran’s Mojtaba Goleij has defeated his Mongolian opponent by technical superiority to win bronze in the 97 kg weight-class of the Wrestling World Championships in Norway.
Goleij got off to a powerful start as he performed a takedown before earning a step-out point to go UP 3-nothing on his way to finishing the 1st period 7-nothing. And then at the start of the 2nd period the Mongolian lost a challenge and a point, before Goleij went for another successful takedown to seal the bronze.
Earlier in the day, Erfan Elahi was overwhelmed 6-5 by his Armenian opponent in the repechage, to miss out on the bronze. Team Iran concluded their campaign with three Gold, three Silver and a Bronze.
